Our Aims
At Chancery Book Keeping Services our aims are very simple - we want to provide a high quality solicitors' accounts service to our Clients. We do this by ensuring that
- all our staff are professional legal cashiers experienced in all areas of solicitors' practices
- by keeping abreast of new developments and changes in the Solicitors Accounts Rules through training
- by building strong relationships with our Clients and understanding their unique requirements
People and Charges
Richard Ling-Williams started in solicitors accounts in 1980 as an assistant legal cashier with Law Systems & Designs. Working with Martin Hajaj, one of the co-founders of the Institute of Legal Cashiers, and went on to form Chancery Book Keeping Services in 1981. Working with clients in all areas of law and through the many changes which have occurred, Richard has gained a unique store of experience and knowledge which he puts to good use for both existing and new clients. He has acted as a trainer and troubleshooter for several of the software companies in the solicitors accounts market and has worked throughout England and the Channel Islands. Richard is a menber of the Institute of Legal Cashiers and Administrators and a Fellow of the Institute of legal Accounts Managers.
Ian Thomas joined the firm in 1985 and has worked in a variety of practices covering conveyancing to crime and everything in between. Currently, his clients work in crime and mental health, conveyancing, housing and commercial work. Ian is an Associate of the Institute of Legal Cashiers and Administrators.
Pam Grove has worked in solicitors accounts since 1978 and became senior cashier for an eight partner, five office south east London practice. Since joining Chancery Book Keeping Services in 2002, Pam has managed the accounts in conveyancing and litigation clients of the firm. Pam is a member of the Institute of Legal Cashiers and Administrators.
Cynthia Taylor joined the firm in 2005. For the previous four years, she worked as a cashier and administrator for a large Legal Aid practice in north London and was trained by, and succeeded, Richard Ling-Williams as sole legal cashier. She is still involved with her previous firm where Chancery Book Keeping Services now provide all the legal accounts support and administration for the practice, and also works with a firm specialising in charity and family law. Cynthia is a member of the Institute of Legal Cashiers and Administrators.
Charges
Our charges are based on hourly rates unless we agree otherwise. Our current rates for solicitors book keeping are from £21.50 to £30.00 per hour and will remain fixed until January 2011 for all new clients.
